This year has been a fantastic year for Shuttercraft, which has not only been shortlisted for several fantastic awards in the franchise industry but has also won a variety of support and service accolades.
These awards recognise not only the dedication to its network of 25 partners, but also to the credibility of the S:CRAFT product.
While 2020 has been a difficult year for many, it hasn’t slowed Shuttercraft down. Taking on new Franchise Partners has meant momentum at the head office, based near Winchester, has been non-stop keeping franchisees relevant in the market and suitably informed to ensure they are able to trade safely during the pandemic.
Shuttercraft’s development and growth didn’t start in 2020. It began nearly two years ago when the franchise took a bold move from a van franchise model to a management franchise giving the franchise, existing and new, the chance to really grow their businesses as leaders.
Martin Jones, franchisee for Shuttercraft in Warwick, Worcestershire and Monmouth, shared his thoughts on this change:
“I knew that Shuttercraft had improved their model and that it was much more of a management franchise and that really appealed to me – my skills are in running a business and dealing with customers. I’d always been front of house in my previous business and I wanted to make sure that I could continue to do this whilst maximising the business opportunities. “
Shuttercraft’s greatest recognition this year came from the BFA HSBC Annual Franchise Awards, held virtually from London earlier this month, where Shuttercraft won the Business Transformation 2020 award.
The British Franchise Association is a trade association for the British franchising industry and is recognised for its dedication to the ethical standards of franchise businesses across the UK.
Commenting on the win, Lisa Stead, Shuttercraft Franchise Manager said: “The team has worked so hard this last 18 months, pushing boundaries, stepping out of their comfort zones, and striving for change in order to provide the very best service to and for our network. Winning the Business Transformation award, amongst such fantastic other entries, has been a massive recognition of the team’s dedication to the development of the franchise. We were genuinely rather overwhelmed to have reached the final, let alone actually win.”
The BFA award made for a great end of year celebration that further grew with the arrival of our Elite Franchise 100 placement in the Top 25 Franchises in the UK!
Year on year Shuttercraft has climbed the Elite Franchise 100 ladder and this year marked the first year to hit the top 25, making Shuttercraft not only the only shutter franchise to make the list, but also to place as the top home improvement franchise.

The home improvements market has seen a huge boost throughout Covid. As one of the industries that has continued to do well with a larger number of people at home, Shuttercraft has also been recognised for the quality of our installation and customer services when selling and installing the S:CRAFT products.
At the beginning of the year, the Global 100 awarded us the Best Custom Window Shutter Provider 2020 award.
The awards consist of only 100 of the World’s leading firms and individuals, with votes received from their global readers, in over 163 countries worldwide making the award particularly special – and it didn’t end there!
Adding to the end of year successes, the M&A Today Global Awards also awarded us Best Custom Window Shutters 2021 this December.

This quality also reflects in the support and marketing from the head office team. We were thrilled to be shortlisted as an FMA Marketing Awards Finalist this year and though we didn’t take home the top prize, the awards acknowledge the importance of excellent marketing in promoting individual franchisees.
Another proud moment for the marketing team this year was the fantastic news that Shuttercraft friends and colleagues at MRS Digital, based in Fleet, won the UK Search Awards Best Local Campaign (PPC) for our 23 local campaigns in one PPC venture for local marketing.
This highlights not only the head office team’s hard work, but the hard work that goes into choosing the right supporting agencies and suppliers that share our core values in delivering quality services 24/7 to the network.
2020 may be coming to an end, but Shuttercraft successes certainly are not! Currently the company has three finalist nominations at the Virtual Franchising Awards (VFA) for Best Franchisee Support, Franchisor of the Year and Best Adaptation to Change. The VFA awards will be announced in January 2021 – fingers crossed the winning streak continues!
